Removing an implant removes its volume; the stretched skin envelope remains — from mild deflation to marked emptiness, usually hollowing at the upper pole first. Fat transfer refills that envelope with living tissue: soft, warm, natural — a modest natural breast, not the implant's size, which many explant patients describe as exactly the goal.
